Debating landscape architectural pedagogies

210504 To and Fro_Pedagodgies for Future Practice.JPG

Last week, Rosie Halsmith took part in a national round-table debating pedagogies of future practice in landscape architecture.

The discipline of landscape architecture often aims (and claims) to address the coalescing and intensifying conditions faced by global communities and ecosystems. In this conversation, landscape architectural educators around Australia were asked to discuss what landscape architectural education is doing to prepare the practitioners of the future, and what more can it do?

In this online panel discussion, Rosie was joined by Associate Professor Julian Raxworthy, Professor Alex Felson, Claudia Taborda, Professor SueAnne Ware, Rhys Williams, and Professor Gini Lee. The conversation was chaired by Claire Martin, National President of AILA and Associate Director at Oculus.

A big thank you to RMIT Landscape Architecture for the invitation to take part, specifically to Kyle Bush and Alice Lewis. A unique opportunity to have a discussion across universities, and to connect with people who are in similar spaces, dealing with similar issues and opportunities. We’re looking forward to seeing what happens next.
