This year’s National Landscape Architecture Awards saw an exciting number of Western Australian practices and projects recognised. We’re particularly delighted to announce that a handful of To & Fro clients and collaborators were amongst the award winners.

UDLA picked up two Awards of Excellence for Newman Town Square and Sister Kate’s Place of Healing, Syrinx Environmental picked up an Award of Excellence for the Living Knowledge Stream Guidance and Simon Kilbane’s research project ‘National Green Network’ also picked up an Award of Excellence.

Other WA award winners included Hassell’s Optus Stadium Park and Place Laboratory’s Railway Square. Huge congratulations to all!

This past weekend also saw the annual Festival of Landscape Architecture - an international conversation about the direction of the profession. Our friend, client and collaborator Vanessa Margetts, Director of MudMap Studio, was featured as part of a conversation about new and emerging practitioners, and Greg Grabasch, Principal Director of UDLA, presented alongside Ezra Jacobs-Smith about UDLA’s current work on Wadjemup.

We feel very lucky to be working alongside studios and practitioners who are leading the way in Australian landscape architecture.

Here’s a colourful map of WA’s regions and project locations to celebrate this year’s recognised projects.
