Published pieces: The Curtin Living Knowledge Stream

An article on the Curtin Living Knowledge Stream, co-authored by Rosie, was recently published in The Architect.

Alongside Pip Munckton, Rosie chatted with some of the team members who worked on the Living Knowledge Stream project. This progressive planning and landscape strategy was designed through a collaboration between landscape architects and Traditional Owners - Syrinx Environmental, Dr Noel Nannup, and cultural engagement consultants Sync 7.

In its current iteration, the vision for the Living Knowledge Stream is a green-blue infrastructure and indigenous cultural trail network, underpinned by the path of local Songlines and water movement across the future Curtin University site.

This project is one that was driven by a collaborative process - and by listening to Traditional Owners. It is a key example of the significanct impact that a good design process can have, at a broad scale planning level.

The Living Knowledge Stream was recently awarded an National Landscape Architecture Award of Excellence for Land Management, an WA Landscape Architecture Award of Excellence for Planning, and a Commendation at the Australian Urban Design Awards. It’s excellent to see this project gaining such broad recognition.
