Over the past few months, Loren Holmes has been working alongside fellow DesignFreo committee members towards the shared goal of celebrating design and designers in the port city of Fremantle / Walyalup and beyond.

DesignFreo is a not-for-profit founded by a group of local designers, makers and doers, interested in how design can bring joy to the everyday and also in how design can tackle the bigger issues facing our communities and planet.

Through events, workshops and exhibitions, DesignFreo creates opportunities to see what designers do, hear their ideas and join a broader conversation about why it’s important.

The DesignFreo committee is made up of Pippa Hurst (Chair), Michael Tucak (Vice-Chair), Emma Brain, Gyano Wilson, Claire McGowan, Layla Saleeba, Natalie Marinho, Loren Holmes, Jen Lowe, Gabi Scott and Angus McBride.

Coming up on the DesignFreo calendar is Object, Space, Place, an exhibition looking at the tangible and intangible ways that design shapes our experiences. The exhibition runs from Saturday 28 November 2020 to Sunday 24 January 2021, at Fremantle Arts Centre. We hope to see you there!
