We’re chuffed to have been invited to take part in the Fremantle Biennale this year. From November 2, look out for Unit, 13 installations along Fremantle’s shoreline, each designed by a local architect or landscape architect.

Our Unit, Below, considers both the above and the below. Our allocated site, behind Fremantle’s Maritime Museum, is on a portion of land that was previously water. As it stands today, water lies somewhere beneath the site’s current collection of hard surfaces. And, in the not too distant future, water will return to envelop those surfaces, bringing with it many changes. Our surface interventions grapple with these notions of surface, depth and change over time.
